Warning over scam callers

A warning has been issued about scam phone calls being made by people claiming to work for Maidstone Borough Council.

Kent County Council (KCC) has received several reports of incidents of callers asking about a ‘recent accident’ the resident has been in.

An alert issued by KCC Trading Standards said: “Please be aware these calls are not being made by Maidstone Borough Council.

“Please do not disclose any personal information such as bank details, no matter who the person claims to be.”
