Hundreds turned out for a fun run with a difference at the weekend. The Coxheath Santa 5k saw more than 400 people running around the village dressed up as everyone’s favourite festive character.

There were Father Christmass­es of all shapes, sizes, ages, and genders, all enjoying a brisk jog on a freezing Sunday morning.

This year was bigger than ever, with around 100 more runners, and villagers turning out to line parts of the route and cheer them on.

The event was organised by the Coxheath branch of Beginners2­Runners, an organisati­on that helps people get from the couch to running a 5k in 10 weeks.

The group gets together on Sundays at 6pm and Wednesdays at 7pm and 8pm at Coxheath Primary School.

The Stockett Lane school acted as the start and finish line for the run, and there was also a series of warm-up activities.
