Defendant Jorven Seren, who believes she is a five-year-old girl, was born a man but asked to be addressed as a woman.

Judge Adele Williams banned Seren from keeping the doll in the dock after telling barrister Paul Hogben: “That is totally inappropriate and I make it plain she will not be doing that for the rest of the hearing!”

Seren spent the rest of the case sucking her thumb.

The court heard she was arrested after being seen kissing a child outside a cafe in Thanet.

The victim’s distressed mother spoke to members of a local church who had contacted police about Seren’s odd behaviour.

When police went to Seren’s home in Margate they discovered more than 460 images of child sex had been downloaded.

Canterbury Crown Court heard the 55-year-old claimed a known paedophile, who has since died, persuaded her to download the images.

Judge Williams heard that although psychiatrists concluded she has personality problems, she did not have any mental illness and jailed her for a total of 15 months.
