Council has ignored eco-alternative

In his letter to the KM, dated December 2, Cllr Burton stated: “Many people have criticised the local plan but no one has offered an alternative.” This is blatantly untrue.
For several years now the Eco Build Partnership UK has presented a proposal for an eco-village at Broomfield Park in Kingswood, offering a substantial kick-start to the Leeds-bypass.
For whatever reason, council officials have repeatedly refused to engage with us to form this innovative project.
Indeed more than 20 years ago the present owner’s father offered to fund the first stage of the council’s promoted dual-carriageway ‘blue route’ Leeds bypass. His offer was Senior reporter Senior reporter not accepted and the ideal road was never built.
