Lucy’s learning how to make a change

-

A keen Guide is hoping to change the local area after joining the UK’s largest girl-led advocacy network.

Lucy Bunting from Maidstone was joined by 20 other members of the Guides during a series of sessions held by Action for Change.

The 16-year-old got to learn about campaigning techniques, as well as attending inspiring talks from young female campaigners, including Laura Bates, the founder of the Everyday Sexism Project.

Lucy will now be part of the Action for Change network in London and the South East for the next year, and will look to tackle issues in the local area, as well as feeding into national Girlguiding campaigns.

The 1st Maidstone Senior Section member said: “The best thing has been learning how individuals can make a difference. It’s given me motivation to be the change I want to see.”
