More grief piling up at Junction 8
I am astonished, bitterly disappointed and bewildered there is yet another planning application for development at Junction 8, the Gateway to the Weald, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and of course next to our wonderful Leeds Castle.
Eight years ago there was a public enquiry against the horrendous KIG application for the same area; it lasted six weeks.
There were more than 380 people involved, hundreds of residents objected, thousands of documents were produced and several groups were involved before the application was refused.
Three years ago another application came forward, the Waterside Development – yet another public inquiry, more documents and witnesses. This was also refused by a government inspector for the same reasons.
Here we go again – another application for “mixed commercial development” and another inquiry.
How much public money has been spent so far? One million pounds, more perhaps?
