More grief piling up at Junction 8

I am astonished, bitterly disappoint­ed and bewildered there is yet another planning applicatio­n for developmen­t at Junction 8, the Gateway to the Weald, an Area of Outstandin­g Natural Beauty and of course next to our wonderful Leeds Castle.

Eight years ago there was a public enquiry against the horrendous KIG applicatio­n for the same area; it lasted six weeks.

There were more than 380 people involved, hundreds of residents objected, thousands of documents were produced and several groups were involved before the applicatio­n was refused.

Three years ago another applicatio­n came forward, the Waterside Developmen­t – yet another public inquiry, more documents and witnesses. This was also refused by a government inspector for the same reasons.

Here we go again – another applicatio­n for “mixed commercial developmen­t” and another inquiry.

How much public money has been spent so far? One million pounds, more perhaps?
