New venue for hospice run
The East Malling Trust has stepped in to ensure the Maidstone Road Run, a major fundraiser for Heart of Kent Hospice, goes ahead.
After losing its planned venue, the trust has made its East Malling Estate available to hold the registration, start and finish of the run, which is expected to attract up to 700 entrants on Sunday.
Runners will be able to take part in either a half marathon, a 10,000m or a four mile race, with the aim of raising £30,000.
Sarah Pugh, chief executive of the hospice at Preston Hall, Aylesford, said: “The East Malling Trust has been brilliant and rallied to our aid by providing us with the all-important venue free of charge and also helping with our route planning and organisation.”
