Three inquests are expected to resume in the town next week. The coroner will determine the circumstances around MaryJane Thurgood’s death after an earlier hearing was told the 52-year-old died in December of alcohol and drug poisoning. A post-mortem found large quantities of drink, an antidepressant and epilepsy drug in her system. An inquest will resume at the Archbishop’s Palace, Mill Street, on Monday. The hearing for 48-year-old Maidstone man Paul Mealin, who was found hanged in the town on Boxing Day, is scheduled for the following day. On Wednesday, Peter Britton’s inquest will resume. The 76-year-old’s causes of death were recorded as pneumonia, a fractured neck and heart disease. He died at Maidstone Hospital.
