Two charged af­ter four ar­rested

Four men ar­rested in con­nec­tion with bur­glar­ies have been re­leased – but two have been charged with dif­fer­ent of­fences.

The men were pulled over in a Citroen Xsara in Jan­uary, fol­low­ing re­ports of sus­pi­cious be­hav­iour and the car was searched by of­fi­cers.

They were ar­rested in Brunswick Street, Maid­stone, and in­ves­ti­gated for al­leged con­spir­acy to com­mit bur­glary of­fences then bailed pend­ing fur­ther in­quiries un­til this month .

Two of the men, both from Chatham, have been re­leased with­out charge, but Alexan­der An­der­son, 42, of Ord­nance Street, Chatham, was charged with be­ing in pos­ses­sion of a knife in a pub­lic place and bailed to ap­pear be­fore mag­is­trates in Maid­stone on Fri­day, April 21.

Justin Wells, 26, of Royal Road, Sheer­ness, was charged with drink-driv­ing, driv­ing with­out in­sur­ance and driv­ing with­out a li­cence.

At Med­way Mag­is­trates’ Court,, he was banned from driv­ing for three years, fined £ 110 and or­dered to pay £85 costs.
