Seven-up for 10-man Bears

Southern Counties East League

-

Two players scored hat-tricks as 10-man Bearsted beat Erith & Belvedere 7-1 in their final home game of the season. Bears had to play for more than half the game without Graeme Andrews after he was red-carded for pulling back Sebastian Schoburgh. But it was still goalless at half-time and Constantine Scarlat headed home a cross from his brother Lucien three minutes after the restart to put Bearsted ahead. Five minutes later, Ryan Golding crossed for Sam Flisher to score and Scarlat then converted a Golding corner to make it 3-0. Bearsted were now rampant and Chris Webber turned the ball into his own net before Scarlat completed his treble 20 minutes from time. Schoburgh pulled one back for the Deres but two more goals for Flisher rounded off a superb Bearsted display. They are 12th in the Southern Counties East League Premier Division ahead of Saturday’s final game, away to Beckenham. Bearsted: S Andrews, Hughes, Lyall, G Andrews, Croucher, Garner ( Carcary), Coppins, ( Holliday), Flisher, Williams ( Golding), C Scarlat, L Scarlat. Sub not used: Sage. K Sports finished their Division 1 season with a 4-4 draw against SC Thamesmead. Caine Smith opened the scoring after 16 seconds as Sports and Liam Dawson doubled the lead before half-time. Smith restored the two-goal cushion after Mead replied from a free-kick and while the visitors scored again, it appeared to be game over when Ed Morant made it 4-2 to Sports. But there was a late twist as Thamesmead pulled a goal back five minutes from time and equalised with the final kick. Sports have finished fifth and boss Kris Browning said: “I’d have taken that at the start of the season, given the long run of away games we had to play while our ground was being renovated. “We’ve come such a long way this season and I just hope we can keep the Caine Smiths of this world and build on it. “I want to have a real go next season.” Snodland Town signed off with a 4-0 win against bottom club Lewisham Borough. Liam Gillies gave Town a sixthminute lead and Snodland doubled their tally early in the second half through Aaron Chiles. Gillies made it 3-0 five minutes later and completed his hat-trick a minute from time. Snodland, in their first season at this level, finished seventh.
