Burglary trial

A man is due to stand trial, accused of burgling his sister’s home twice in two nights.

Michael Scott is alleged to have let himself into the property, in Graveney Road, Maidstone, on March 12 and 13 while Michelle Andrews was sleeping and taken her bank card.

The 46-year-old, of Wallis Oaks Avenue, admitted two counts of fraud having withdrawn £640 from his sister’s account.

He also admitted an unrelated charge of stealing £164 of alcohol from Morrisons in Sutton Road on March 9.

But at Maidstone Magistrates’ Court on Friday he denied two counts of burglary, and said he had a key and permission to enter the home.

The trial will take place at Sevenoaks Magistrates’ Court on August 17.
