Season ticket car park ban is unjust

-

I wonder if I can ask Maidstone Borough Council, through the KM, how it can justify its position on long stay car parks for permit holders (Season tickets not valid at car park, KM June 15)?

I am a season ticket holder and pay handsomely to travel and work in the town.

While I think it’s commendable that the council recognises the need for more parking places for workers in the town, the terms and conditions clearly state I am entitled to park at ANY long stay car park.

How then, can the introduction of Sandling Road be excluded from the provisions of the terms? This should be challenged. How could any parking ticket be valid if drivers are complying with the terms and conditions as outlined by the authority?

The argument that “quality parking is always needed and so we are keen to ensure these spaces are available to as many people as possible” is pure nonsense.

The same number of spaces are available, just spread out across different car parks.

I’m not going to be able to drive two cars and park simultaneously in separate car parks.
