Kent Messenger Maidstone - - NEWS -

Fifty burly bikers descended on a village pub on the way to the seaside on Sunday.

The Meridian chapter of the Harley Owner’s Group (HOG) parked their impressive HarleyDavidson bikes outside the Oak on the Green, Bearsted, and popped inside to enjoy some coffee and cookies on their way to the Whitstable Oyster festival.

Paul Stewart, landlord, said: “It was fantastic to have the guys come to the pub. They were a really nice bunch and a lot of regulars and kids came along to see their beautiful bikes.

“They even donated towards our charity event this Saturday where Emma Ryder will be getting her hair cut off for the Little Princess Trust at 11.30am.”

Bernard Cresswell, the road captain for the ride, said: “We organise a ride every month and always look to take the scenic route and avoid motorways so the guys can explore the countryside.

The 70-mile ride, starting at Mottingham, continued to Doddington and across the South Downs.
