New wheels for garden volunteers

Kent Messenger Maidstone - - NEWS -

A volunteering service which tackles out-of-control gardens and DIY tasks in Maidstone has been given a new van thanks to generous donations.

Get Involved is run by Involve Kent, a charity linking members with good causes.

Thanks to funds donated by The Clothworkers Foundation, The Trusthouse Charitable Foundation, The Beatrice Laing Trust and Haynes of Maidstone, the group can now help even more people.

Katrina Gadsby, wellbeing project leader, said: “It is great to have the new van for the Get Involved project which allows our volunteers to give back to the community and build social connections while learning new skills and increasing their confidence.”

The project runs Monday– Friday and volunteers can dedicate as much time as they feel comfortable with.

If you are interested in hearing more about the gardening and DIY service, call Involve Kent on 01622 677337.
