Walkers braved the elements for a 15km or 25km walk to boost a charity’s finances.

More than 100 people took part in Heart of Kent Hospice’s Walk 25, which took a circular route from Teston Bridge Country Park through Yalding, West Peckham, East Peckham, and Nettlestead Green.

Supported by the Malling Lions, Apollo Taxis and the European School of Osteopathy, the event was a huge success, and walkers were thrilled to see students from the Boxley school offering leg, neck and shoulder massages as they finished their walks.

Erica Snow, events and community fundraising manager for hospice at Aylesford, said: “My thanks go to Malling District Lions for all their support, and especially to the 50-plus volunteers who enabled this walk to happen. Despite the grey weather we had a fantastic day, and a heartfelt thank you, on behalf of those we care for, to everyone who took part and raised sponsorship for the hospice.”
