A printer and document services company has expanded further into Europe after taking over a German firm for an undisclosed sum.

Apogee Corporation, based in Maidstone, has bought print manufacturer and service provider Kopiervertrieb Rhein-Ruhr (KRR), based in Oberhausen near Düsseldorf.

Its new acquisition – founded in 2012 by managing director Bernd Ruse and three others –is expected to make sales of €4 million this year.

Apogee is already Europe’s largest provider of print and document services and has taken over several companies recently – including Clarke Office Solutions and Danwood this year.

Joint chief executive Jason Collins said: “We already have an operation to the north in Hanover. KRR is ideally located in the heart of western Germany.

“Now it is part of the Apogee group, the new acquisition will give us great coverage in Germany – and a strong hub from which we can continue to grow across Europe.”
