Pressing matters at kindergarten

Kent Messenger Maidstone - - FRONT PAGE -

Pre-school children took part in this year’s Cobnuts Kindergarten apple pressing during a day packed full of activities.

Jacky Witt, a supporter of the kindergarten in Gatland Lane, Maidstone, helped set it up and was relieved the weather held out on Saturday.

She said: “It went very well and we were lucky it didn’t rain.

“We were crushing and squeezing apples to make juice, autumn craft activities and we had children making leaf-rubbing pictures.

“Lots of children who are at the kindergarten came as well as those who used to go.

“Everyone always enjoys the apple pressing, especially the dads and lots of people took apple juice home with them.

“There was a group playing music, including guitar and violin.

“We had lots of refreshments and everybody brought their home made cakes. It was a really nice afternoon.”
