Runners raise £1k for charity
Charitable runners put on their trainers to race for a mental health charity.
More than 60 people of all ages turned out at Mote Park, Maidstone for a 5-10k charity fun run.
Some participants even brought along their fourlegged friends to compete alongside them.
Elliott Mercer, eight, was the winner of the 5k race, closely followed by his dad, Sam.
Those who took part helped to raise more than £1,000.
The event was organised by Maidstone and West Kent Mind, a charity which provides help and support for those with mental health problems.
Tom Fishenden, from Mind, said: “The event was designed to raise awareness of the mental health services in the area and to raise money. Although people could run without having to raise money because it was also designed to bring the community together to show support is there for them
