Lack of remorse shown by baby Tony’s evil mum

-

Paula Hudgell and three-yearold Tony’s fight for tougher sentences to be handed to baby abusers kicked off in the past two months, but the culprit behind the horrific injuries he suffered as a newborn has this week decided to appeal her sentence.

Jody Simpson, Tony’s biological mum, played a pivotal role in snapping his legs and leaving him at death’s door. A crown court judge had his hands tied when he jailed both her and Antony Smith for 10 years each in February.

Simpson sat expressionless when she was locked up earlier this year and it appears she still feels no real remorse for forcing her own flesh and blood to grow up without any legs.

Without the hard work of Mrs Hudgell, Simpson and Smith would still be walking the streets today and would be able to have another child. She shows Tony the love and affection Simpson wasn’t capable of and is transforming his life for the better following a desperately sad beginning.

For Simpson to even think for one second her sentence was too harsh is outrageous. Tony will live the rest of his life with a physical reminder of how his first parents mistreated him.

If Simpson had an ounce of decency she would see out her sentence and consider herself fortunate she will be out to live an adult life following her stint behind bars.

We at the Kent Messenger are amazed by Tony’s resilience and were pleased to hand over in excess of £7,000 to help him live a childhood he would not have had without Mrs Hudgell. We wish him and his new family the best in the future and look forward to seeing the youngster, a keen tennis player, at Wimbledon one day.
