Trial set for crash driver

A van driver has ad­mit­ted caus­ing the death of a fa­ther and daugh­ter by driv­ing care­lessly on the A299.

But Si­vanan­than Mathi­vathanan, 44, of Grange Road Broad­stairs de­nies driv­ing dan­ger­ously and will now face a trial in Novem­ber.

Valentino Col­man and Olivia died af­ter they had pulled up be­hind a sta­tion­ary Re­nault Clio on the A299 in Thanet.

The 49-year-old and 21-yearold had been trav­el­ling in a Toy­ota Aygo when they stopped and tragedy struck. Mr Cole­man, known as Tino, owned One Hair­dress­ing in Mar­ket Build­ings, Maid­stone.
