Youngsters aged 11 - 18 got some hands-on experience when top level rugby players held coaching sessions at a summer school.

Harlequins, the Twickenham-based premier league rugby club, held a training camp at Sutton Valence School over the bank holiday weekend, offering four jam-packed days of fun.

Girls and boys not only learned tackling, ball handling, creation and attack and defence techniques from the very best, but also gained the chance to make new friends and win some fantastic prizes.

Training was tailored to all abilities and adopted the ‘Harlequins Way’ approach, which focuses on the core values of sportsmanship, enjoyment and team spirit.

A Hero of the Week was chosen on the last day of the programme - the player judged to have the best spirit and most endeavour. The winner received a Harlequins Community Membership for the 2018/19 season, a pair of tickets to a match from every competition this period, along with the chance to meet players, get signed shirts and behind-thescenes access.
