SMART ART: Exhibition promises to be a real pleasure
A FORMER Norton Knatchbull School pupil is showcasing his works of art at a London gallery this month. Fine art graduate Dennis Dunn, 23, of Noakes Meadow, South Ashford, is joining three other London-based artists to display paintings in the Pleasure is Leisure exhibition at the Nolias Gallery, Old Kent Road, Southwark. Dennis undertook a foundation course at Kent Institute of Art & Design, Maidstone, where he specialised in illustration before completing his studies at Sir John Cass Department of Art, London Guildhall. He has already taken part in several exhibitions and sold various drawings, paintings and sculptures. His work is funded through taking commissions for portraits. Pleasure is Leisure celebrates popular British recreational pursuits through photography, video, sculpture, performancebased art and more. Dennis said: “My own work consists of a series of figurative paintings in a traditional riverside setting. “I have also included three sculptures which are small wax models of playful scenes.” The exhibition runs from March 2 to 7.
