SMART ART: Ex­hi­bi­tion prom­ises to be a real plea­sure

A FOR­MER Nor­ton Knatch­bull School pupil is show­cas­ing his works of art at a Lon­don gallery this month. Fine art grad­u­ate Den­nis Dunn, 23, of Noakes Meadow, South Ash­ford, is join­ing three other Lon­don-based artists to dis­play paint­ings in the Plea­sure is Leisure ex­hi­bi­tion at the No­lias Gallery, Old Kent Road, South­wark. Den­nis un­der­took a foun­da­tion course at Kent In­sti­tute of Art & De­sign, Maid­stone, where he spe­cialised in il­lus­tra­tion be­fore com­plet­ing his stud­ies at Sir John Cass De­part­ment of Art, Lon­don Guild­hall. He has al­ready taken part in sev­eral ex­hi­bi­tions and sold var­i­ous draw­ings, paint­ings and sculp­tures. His work is funded through tak­ing com­mis­sions for por­traits. Plea­sure is Leisure cel­e­brates pop­u­lar Bri­tish recre­ational pur­suits through pho­tog­ra­phy, video, sculp­ture, per­for­mance­based art and more. Den­nis said: “My own work con­sists of a se­ries of fig­u­ra­tive paint­ings in a tra­di­tional river­side set­ting. “I have also in­cluded three sculp­tures which are small wax mod­els of play­ful scenes.” The ex­hi­bi­tion runs from March 2 to 7.
