Village hit by five-day crime wave
HIGH Halden is experiencing a minor crime spree. A number of thefts were recorded last week which has led police to issue a reminder for people to stay alert. Last Tuesday afternoon the door of a house in The Chennells was forced open and a handbag and a number of power tools stolen. A garden shed was also broken into between February 17 and 20 and seven fishing rods, an umbrella and rucksack taken. Two generators and a Stihl chainsaw were also stolen from a van parked in The Chennells between February 20 and 21. PC Annie Williams said: “We have no clues at the moment, but people should remain vigilant and if they see anything suspicious, they should phone 999. “If they have any information about the thefts they can contact me at Tenterden police station on 01233 896483.
