Sheriff rounds up children for work week

Kentish Express Ashford & District - - REMEMBER WHEN? -

THE High Sheriff of Kent was presented as a positive role model to girls at an Ashford primary school.

Hamstreet Primary School invited Amanda Cottrell to talk to pupils as part of their World of Work week which gives children an insight into different jobs and why people need to work.

Many professionals have been showcased including firefighters, authors, engineers, architects, and nurses, who have all visited the school.

The school even linked up with a marine biologist in the USA via webcam.

“The High Sheriff of Kent visited as we particularly wanted to profile women in professional life to raise career expectations of girls in school,” said head teacher Jane Macey.
