It’s fair play as footballers tackle injustice

Kentish Express Ashford & District - - JUNCTION 10 -

BOYS from a football team enjoyed a kick about with a conscience as part of Ashford’s Fairtrade Fortnight. Youngsters from Park Farm Under13s tried Fairtrade footballs at a training session on Friday. After getting hot and sweaty on the pitch, they cooled down with Fairtrade ice cream. Coach Joe Clement said: “The footballs were very good and we are looking at getting them for the whole club. “The kids were all told about the child labour which goes into making footballs and why Fairtrade is so important. “The ice cream was also very popular.”
