Char­i­ties re­ceive cash from Big Quiz

MONEY raised by the Ken­tish Ex­press Big Quiz was di­vided be­tween three char­i­ties. Pro­ceeds from the event, held at the Stour Cen­tre in Novem­ber, were split be­tween the League of Friends at Ash­ford’s William Har­vey Hospi­tal, the Mary Webb Can­cer Ap­peal (East Kent Hos­pi­tals Trust char­i­ta­ble fund) and the Kent and Med­way Walk­ing Bus Group.

Re­ceiv­ing cheques for £1,285 at our North Street of­fice on Mon­day were Dr Mal­colm and Kitty Brook of the League of Friends and pathol­o­gist Paul Wil­liams, rep­re­sent­ing the hospi­tal trust. The Walk­ing Bus will also re­ceive the same sum. The pre­sen­ta­tions were made by Ex­press se­nior ed­i­tor Leo Whit­lock and com­mu­nity ed­i­tor Robert Bar­man.

Forty-nine teams took part in the Big Quiz last year. This year’s event will be held on Fri­day, Novem­ber 9. Fur­ther de­tails will fol­low.
