Charities receive cash from Big Quiz
MONEY raised by the Kentish Express Big Quiz was divided between three charities. Proceeds from the event, held at the Stour Centre in November, were split between the League of Friends at Ashford’s William Harvey Hospital, the Mary Webb Cancer Appeal (East Kent Hospitals Trust charitable fund) and the Kent and Medway Walking Bus Group.
Receiving cheques for £1,285 at our North Street office on Monday were Dr Malcolm and Kitty Brook of the League of Friends and pathologist Paul Williams, representing the hospital trust. The Walking Bus will also receive the same sum. The presentations were made by Express senior editor Leo Whitlock and community editor Robert Barman.
Forty-nine teams took part in the Big Quiz last year. This year’s event will be held on Friday, November 9. Further details will follow.
