Grammar schools aren’t the problem

Kentish Express Ashford & District - - OPINION -

IN A recent letter Martin Frey told us how brilliant Hackney schools were and how much better they were than Kent schools. The latest league tables paint a totally different picture. In fact Hackney schools are among the worst schools in the country. In the latest league tables they had the 10th worst results in the country. Only nine authorities did a worse job of educating their children. The fact is that grammar schools dominated the top of the tables with 81 of the top 100 schools being grammar schools. It is quite clear that grammar schools do a better job of educating our children. Its about time people like Martin Frey stopped attacking grammar schools but started putting forward solutions forward to improve poorer schools. Cllr Jim Wedgbury (Con), Park Farm South Ward, Primrose Drive, Park Farm. Kingsnorth, Ashford.
