Achieve­ments marked by evening of fun

MORE than 30 young peo­ple from Ash­ford will cel­e­brate their achieve­ments at a pre­sen­ta­tion next week be­ing held at the North Youth Cen­tre, by the county coun­cil’s Kent Youth Ser­vice.

The event will be a chance for young peo­ple to cel­e­brate achieve­ments in ar­eas like first aid, or sport­ing suc­cess in ac­tiv­i­ties as var­ied as kayak­ing and tram­polin­ing.

Kent Youth Ser­vice work­ers have also nom­i­nated young peo­ple with a spe­cial com­mit­ment to the Es­sella Road cen­tre.

KCC Cabi­net mem­ber for com­mu­nity ser­vices, Mike Hill, said: “It is al­ways very en­joy­able when youth cen­tres re­ward their mem­bers in this way.

“It is a good op­por­tu­nity for young peo­ple to feel proud of what they do.”

The evening which takes place on Thurs­day, March 15, from 7.30pm to 9pm, will in­clude a dance per­formed by mem­bers of the youth cen­tre.
