School is back from the brink

Kentish Express Ashford & District - - COUNTRYFILE -

THREE years ago Spring Grove School at Wye was on the brink of closure. Now it is planning expansion to meet demand from parents.

When a group of parents bought the school and set up a charitable trust in September 2003 it only had 79 pupils enrolled.

From this September, they will have 221 on the roll and a waiting list.

The school is holding an open day this Saturday between 10am and noon for anyone interested in enrolling their children.
