Get a taste of the Tour de France

CY­CLISTS are in­vited to join a char­ity’s fund-rais­ing cam­paign. With the spot­light on Kent this sum­mer, as the Tour de France passes through the county, the 2007 Cas­tle Cy­cle Ride, on Sun­day, May 20, is a chance to go along part of the route the elite cy­clists will take. The Cas­tle Cy­cle Ride, in aid of Ac­tion Med­i­cal Re­search, starts and fin­ishes at Ton­bridge Cas­tle. The cir­cu­lar route will take in some of the same towns and vil­lages that the Tour de France passes through. There will be full sup­port through­out the event for rid­ers, in­clud­ing a mo­tor­cy­cle es­cort group, who will mar­shall dif­fer­ent sec­tions. The event starts at 7.30am and the en­try fee is £15, which in­cludes a lunch, re­fresh­ments along the route and a medal.
