Get a taste of the Tour de France
CYCLISTS are invited to join a charity’s fund-raising campaign. With the spotlight on Kent this summer, as the Tour de France passes through the county, the 2007 Castle Cycle Ride, on Sunday, May 20, is a chance to go along part of the route the elite cyclists will take. The Castle Cycle Ride, in aid of Action Medical Research, starts and finishes at Tonbridge Castle. The circular route will take in some of the same towns and villages that the Tour de France passes through. There will be full support throughout the event for riders, including a motorcycle escort group, who will marshall different sections. The event starts at 7.30am and the entry fee is £15, which includes a lunch, refreshments along the route and a medal. For more information visit www.castleride.org or contact Mark Trott on firstname.lastname@example.org or telephone Sarah Stevenson on 07970 829305.
Action Medical Research funds research into many serious diseases and conditions, including cerebral palsy, epilepsy, osteoporosis and sickle cell disease.
