CHILDREN at an Ashford school were entertained by author Michael Rosen during their annual book week. Mr Rosen read poetry to pupils at Furley Park Primary on this year’s chosen theme, the weather. Book week organiser Frances East said that the school had many visitors during book week, including representatives from the Environment Agency, Mid Kent Water and the British Red Cross. “We also had a visit from some ice sculptors who did sculpting in front of the children,” she said. “It was a brilliant week.” Last Thursday was fancy dress day and staff and children came either along a weather theme or as their favourite story book characters.
