Town projects granted an extra £2.7million
ASHFORD’S regeneration plans were given a boost this week after further funding support was announced by the Government. As part of the Communities and Local Government Growth Area Funding (GAF2), a further £2.764million was allocated to projects in town. It includes cash for the Ashford Learning Campus, the Singleton Environment Centre and Warren Park and Ride. Martin Bacon, managing director for Ashford’s Future, said: “Our proven track record for delivering projects has enabled us to secure this additional funding.” Ashford has received a total of £14.064million growth area funding to date in the current round, which runs from April 2006 to the end of March 2008.
