Fourth man charged with conspiracy
A FOURTH man has appeared in court in connection with a spate of cash machine thefts.
Unemployed John Panhandle-Smith, 30, of Snowdown Caravan Site, Aylesham Road, Dover, is charged with conspiracy to burgle.
He appeared before Dover magistrates on Saturday morning and was remanded in custody.
The charge relates to five incidents in January and February involving cash machines at New Romney, Hawkinge, Beltinge near Herne Bay, Sandwich and Littlebourne.
Panhandle-Smith will appear before a judge at Maidstone Crown Court on Friday along with three other men.
They are Hizekiah Roberts, 30, an unemployed builder from Dickens Avenue, Canterbury; Darren Scott Lee, 31, a labourer of The Meadows, New Romney and Anthony Cornelius Lee, 32, a builder from Greenbridge Park Caravan Site, Vauxhall Road, Canterbury. All are charged with conspiracy to burgle. Roberts is also charged with grievous bodily harm with intent to resist arrest.
