Tools and Bar­bies stolen in lorry raids

THOU­SANDS of pounds worth of goods were stolen in a se­ries of overnight lorry thefts on Mon­day, March 5.

Po­lice are in­ves­ti­gat­ing the raids on three ve­hi­cles in Willes­bor­ough and Sev­ing­ton.

A Citroen Ber­lingo parked in Cam­den Ter­race, Willes­bor­ough, was bro­ken into be­tween 11pm and 7.30am caus­ing £150 worth of dam­age to the rear door. Power tools val­ued at ap­prox­i­mately £3,000 were stolen.

At the same time, 70 cases of Ri­zla cig­a­rette pa­pers worth £1,500 were stolen from a Ley­land Daf com­mer­cial lorry parked at the Ash­ford Truck­stop ser­vices in Water­brook Av­enue, Sev­ing­ton.

In the third raid, toys, in­clud­ing Bar­bie dolls, were taken from an Ive­coFord com­mer­cial dou­ble wagon lorry parked be­hind the French Con­nec­tion restau­rant in Sev­ing­ton. Dam­age cost­ing £100 was caused to the wagon cur­tains on both trail­ers.
