Help charity reach new heights

Kentish Express Ashford & District - - OPINION -

BRITAIN’S leading children’s cancer charity CLIC Sargent, is seeking adventurous people to take part in a abseil challenge, taking place at Charter House on Saturday, May 12.

The charity is asking 120 daredevils to plunge 120 feet from the roof of Ashford’s highest office block and raise money to help them sup- port children with cancer. Places are limited and will be awarded on a first come, first served basis.

Fund-raising manager Dan Powell said: “We would like to encourage people from Ashford to take part in this event and help children with cancer in the region.

“Sadly, 10 children and young people are diagnosed with cancer every day in the UK, but CLIC Sargent acts as a lifeline, keeping families together when they get that terrible news.”

The event is open to anyone over the age of 16 and those signing up need to raise a minimum of £100 for CLIC Sargent.

All money raised will go directly to help children with cancer and their families.

For full information, or to register, contact Dan Powell, on 01273 897381 or 07917 096563 or e-mail dan.powell@clicsargent.org.uk
