Waxing in store for brave staff
IT WAS a hairy moment for staff at Sainsbury’s as they braved a leg wax for Comic Relief. Bybrook store check-out staff Andrew Duffield, Adrian Pittock, Tom Barker, Matt Goodwin and John Banham all had their legs waxed by fellow staff members in aid of the charity. Check-out manager James Cornwell had promised he would do the same if they raised more than £300 and they reached £500. More than £1,000 has been collected in total so far from the different activities. They included face painting, a karate display, a performance by the Scenic Twirl Team, managers cycling on exercise bikes and wearing red shirts. Last week store manager Mark Hughes completed a sponsored silence. Spokesman Sharmini Brown said: “Some people were cycling for three hours at a time – they did so well. We also had support from Godinton School with the face painting and it was a very enjoyable day.”
