‘SUPPORT INDICATES STRENGTH OF FEELING’

Kentish Express Ashford & District - - OPINION -

ACTION groups and anti-airport campaigners have welcomed the results of the public meetings. Greatstone resident and action group member Dick Matra, of Dunes Road, said: “The overwhelming support we have received for the referendums about Lydd Airport’s expansion plans indicates the strength of feeling among local people about the airport. I believe a referendum is the most democratic way in which to measure public opinion and I strongly urge all residents to vote in the forthcoming polls. This is a highly important planning application as Lydd Airport’s expansion will have a major adverse impact.”
