Folk songs and cof­fee at church

A COF­FEE con­cert with folk singer Martin Led­ner takes place at Folkestone’s United Re­formed Church on Satur­day. There will be songs in the English folk tra­di­tion and the singer will be joined by guests Ben­net Led­ner and Maddy Scarre. The con­cert starts at 11am and ad­mis­sion costs £3 on the door. Stu­dents in full-time ed­u­ca­tion go free. The price in­cludes cof­fee, tea and bis­cuits and any prof­its will go to sup­port the church’s mu­sic fund. At the same venue in the evening the Folkestone and Hythe Orches­tra present their spring con­cert from 7.30pm. It will in­clude a per­for­mance by a 14-year-old Rus­sian soloist cur­rently study­ing in this coun­try. Tick­ets cost £8 for adults and £4 for stu­dents.
