Priory ball looks back to the 1920s
ALL the fun of the Roaring Twenties is the aim of a glamorous fund-raising ball being held in the stunning setting of St Augustine’s Priory, Bilsington, on Saturday, April 14. Organised by Libby Harrison, it is the latest event in memory of her late mother to boost the Mary Webb Cancer Appeal funds. The money will help support equipment for the £50,000 scanners they have already funded for the Celia Blakey Cancer Centre at the William Harvey Hospital. Already more than 100 tickets for the black tie or 1920s dress event have been sold, but they are still accepting bookings on 01233 720992. The evening will open with a cocktail reception and live music from jazz vocalist Adam Chandler, followed by the meal. After dinner close-up magic from French expert Etienne and a charity auction will be followed by dancing to the acclaimed Ronnie Scott’s Rejects Band until the early hours.
