Working out a great way to help appeal
KEEP fit fans from far and wide came together in the name of charity. Class members of Rosemary Conley fitness clubs in Ashford, Folkestone and Dover, met at the Pent Valley Leisure Centre for a sponsored aerobics session. The three 30-minute sponsored classes included an aerobic warm-up and salsa class followed by toning. Caroline Ward, who runs classes in Folkestone, Ashford and Dover, organised the event, which saw 53 people working out. She said: “I’d like to say a big thank you to everyone who took part and also to Lisa Thatcher and Lindsey Peters who came along to support the event. “I’d also like to thank Wiltshire Greengrocers in Blackbull Road, Folkestone, for donating 60 bananas to give to everyone.” The afternoon raised about £1,000 for Cancer Research. Mrs Ward added: “Everywhere you turn there’s someone who is affected by cancer and it’s such a worthwhile charity. “We are already planning a big fundraising ball for August next year when everyone will be welcome.”
