A question of helping the needy
A SCHOOL teacher is organising a charity quiz night to raise funds for a building project in Africa. Luke Dolby, 27, is returning to his home of St Michael’s for the quiz, to be held in the village hall on March 24. The aim is to raise funds for the Build A School project in Malawi. Mr Dolby, a teacher at Swadelands School at Lenham, first got the idea while working as a TV cameraman. He said: “I went to India to film the aftermath of a tsunami and I visited a school. “They asked for help in raising money for new classrooms. So I filmed a DVD, sent it to some companies and raised the money.” Mr Dolby hopes to raise the £40,000 necessary to build the school, in a project which has also attracted support from the likes of Ian Hislop. The quiz is £7.50 a head and includes fish and chips and a bottle a wine for the table. To book, phone 01233 770780 or (evenings) 01580 774025.
