Chil­dren get a kick out of show

YOUNG­STERS have been hon­ing their mar­tial arts skills for their school variety show this week. Chil­dren from Ham­street Pri­mary School will en­ter­tain their par­ents with singing, danc­ing, gym­nas­tics and kung fu in their Stars Are Us show. High­ways Kinder­garten chil­dren have also per­fected their ren­di­tion of If You’re Happy And You Know It. Af­ter weeks of re­hears­ing, the show will take place tonight (Thurs­day) and to­mor­row (Fri­day). Teach­ing as­sis­tant Kerry Alder said: “The chil­dren de­cided what they wanted to do and have been re­hears­ing very hard as well as mak­ing their own cos­tumes. “They all en­joyed work­ing on it and re­ally put the hours in. “The staff have given up a lot of time as well.” Money raised will go to­wards the up­keep of the school’s swim­ming pool.
