Society is back in town

A BUILDING society is back in Sittingbourne following an agency deal with a local finance company.

Kent Reliance Building Society has teamed up with McLaughlin Hook Finance to provide the new agency.

The fast-growing Chathambased society was previously served by Amicus but the arrangement ended more than a year ago.

The agency is based at The Oast, 62 Bell Road.

The move continues the trans- fer of branches to agencies as part of the society’s drive to cut overheads.

Rob Procter, Kent Reliance’s deputy chief executive, said the society was pleased to embark on this new partnership which would offer members “quality service in their local town centre.”

Kent Reliance has assets of around £1.6 billion and the lowest cost of any other building society. Its offshore subisidiary Easiprocess is based in Bangalore, India.
