Avoiding the drop is first priority

ASHFORD Town’s frantic efforts to get all their games in this season continues with two more matches in the coming week.

On Saturday they travel to Leatherhead and then on Tuesday host another Kent derby with the visit of Dartford.

Saturday’s win lifted them out of the relegation zone as they leapfrogged Godalming but they still need a couple of wins at least to ensure they start next season in Division 1 South.

Mid-table Leatherhead away will not be easy while highflying Dartford are currently fourth as still well in the promotion frame.

It is crucial to Town’s future ambitions that they consolidate their position in the league this season to set themselves up for the next campaign.

The future looks bright for Town – it is the present they need to make sure of.
