DONATION: Checking in for holiday fun
COMEDIAN Dave Lee was presented with a cheque for more than £800 at Ashford’s Park Mall shopping centre on Monday. Shoppers made donations to the comedian’s Happy Holidays charity while taking their youngsters to see Father Christmas in his grotto, at the shopping centre at Christmas. Centre manager Paul Stone said it was the first time Mr Lee had been available to collect the cheque since the busy pantomime season. The money will go towards providing holidays of a lifetime for sick, disabled and disadvantaged children in Kent, taking them and their families to places including Disneyworld and Lapland. “It’s a local charity that helps under-privileged kids and their families in this area and we think it’s a worthy cause to support,” said Mr Stone.
