Po­lice seek­ing wit­nesses to as­sault at Tesco petrol sta­tion

PO­LICE want to hear from wit­nesses to an as­sault at the Tesco, Willes­bor­ough, petrol sta­tion on Sun­day morn­ing.

While wait­ing for fuel, a man was ap­proached by an­other driver in the queue who be­gan to shout at him.

He was pushed into his ve­hi­cle and the door slammed on his leg.

The man was also ag­gres­sive to other cus­tomers at the petrol sta­tion in­clud­ing a wo­man in the shop and a wo­man in the queue for the pumps.

The driver po­lice are seek­ing is aged in his late 30s or early 40s, 6ft 4in and of heavy build. He had black ,un­kempt bushy hair and a black bushy beard.


He was wear­ing black or blue jeans and a black jumper, which were dirty and smelt of oil.

He was driv­ing a dirty white Land Rover, which had stick­ers on the side, and was tow­ing a blue trailer, which had a yel­low car on it with front-end dam­age.

PC Vanessa Postleth­waite said: “This was an un­pro­voked at­tack, and I am anx­ious for in­for­ma­tion which could iden­tify this man.

“I would like to hear from any­one who was at the garage at time of the in­ci­dent, or who recog­nises the de­scrip­tion of this man.”
