CASHING IN: Association raises £40,000 for school
KINGSNORTH Primary School parents celebrated three spectacular years of fund-raising with a wine and cheese evening. The school’s Parents and Friends Association (PFA) has raised £40,000 for the school in that period. The money has helped pay for computers, improvements to the playground, school pantomimes, as well as leavers’ events every year. Tuesday night marked a changing of the guard for the PFA, as the board of the past three years stepped down. Departing chairman Sarah Court said: “It’s been fantastic. I’ve met lots of friends, and I’ve had a fantastic team to support me.” Sarah, who has two children, Amber, 10, and Freddie, seven, at the school, is leaving to look after her newborn son Charlie. She will be replaced as chairman by vice-chairman Natasha Fisk. Also standing down are treasurer Irene Greene and secretary Sarah Baxter. The new vicechairman is Anne Ward, and the new secretary is Rebecca Ralph. A treasurer has not yet been appointed.
