Kentish Express Ashford & District - - OPINION -

A STATEMENT from Anchor Catering issued on Monday said: “Anchor Catering is a wellestablished sandwich manufacturing business which has always sought to operate at the highest levels of best practice, which is why the factory is accredited by leading food safety bodies, including the NHS. “Action was taken immediately listeria was identified in the factory - production stopped, customers were notified and product withdrawn from sale. This was done a week ago. “Since then the factory has undergone a thorough investigation by microbiologists to identify the source of the listeria and the factory has been completely deep cleaned throughout. “Furthermore, it will not open for production again until both we, and the authorities, are completely satisfied that it is totally safe and clean. “There are no Anchor Catering products currently on sale anywhere and there will not be until this matter has been fully resolved.”
