PICTURE APPEAL

Kentish Express Ashford & District - - REMEMBER WHEN? -

URGENTLY seeking readers’ help for a lost picture of her much-loved baby brother is Trisha Maddison. Robert Walter Herbert Hewett, known as Bobby, was born in November 1938 to Ruckinge shepherd and village bell ringer Bert and his wife Lilian, but sadly died the following Good Friday in April 1939. The remaining relatives do know that professional photographs were taken following his birth as he was thought to be the winner of a bonny baby competition, and they are hoping someone may have a copy. Mrs Maddison said: “It would be wonderful if one of your readers had a copy of this picture or knew where I might get one. Neither of my sisters ever knew of such a photo but I do remember seeing it in my mother’s Bible before she died. “I do hope this will bring back some memories from the dim and distant past to your readers.” She can be contacted at 85 Tennyson Road, Daventry, Northants NN11 9DH.
