Young na­ture lovers box clever

CHAR­ING’S Green Gang, made up of young­sters aged be­tween seven and 11 from the vil­lage pri­mary school, handed over bird and bat boxes they made to the more ma­ture res­i­dents of The Moat at Char­ing on Fri­day. Watched by Rachael Girt from Kent Rural Re­vival, which funded the project to build the 20 an­i­mal homes, and Harri Gold­smith from Ken­tish Stour Coun­try­side Project, they were pre­sented to Michael Humphries and other de­lighted res­i­dents. Af­ter the han­dover The Green Gang team with teacher and leader Jenny Cot­ter­ill planted a num­ber of trees.
