Young nature lovers box clever
CHARING’S Green Gang, made up of youngsters aged between seven and 11 from the village primary school, handed over bird and bat boxes they made to the more mature residents of The Moat at Charing on Friday. Watched by Rachael Girt from Kent Rural Revival, which funded the project to build the 20 animal homes, and Harri Goldsmith from Kentish Stour Countryside Project, they were presented to Michael Humphries and other delighted residents. After the handover The Green Gang team with teacher and leader Jenny Cotterill planted a number of trees.
